SHABBAT between Mincha & Ma’ariv: “Halachic Themes in the Weekly Parsha”

 

1.      SUNDAYS WITH THE RABBI: Please join Rabbi Howard Finkelstein on Sunday evenings at 7:30 pm from January 11th – February 8th for his next series of lectures. This series in part of JET’s Jewish Unity Live 2009 Torah Study Project on the subject of The Shema. All are welcome.

 

2.      CONGREGATION BEIT TIKVAH OF OTTAWA IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE A NEW GEMARA SHIUR to inaugurate a set of the Schottenstein Talmud Bavli recently donated to the Shul library. Rabbi Howard Finkelstein will teach a weekly class on Chapter 10 of Tractate Pesachim, exploring the fascinating laws of Passover, starting in the new year.  The class will take place every Wednesday evening at 6:45 – 7:45 pm (following Ma’ariv) beginning on January 7, 2009.  This class is for men, women and teenagers. Previous knowledge of Talmud not necessary. You may call the Shul office at 613-728-1800 for more information.

 

3.      KOLLEL OF OTTAWA COMES TO CBTO:

a.      Rabbi Butrimovitz class Thursday evenings following Ma’ariv and continues weekly throughout the year

b.      Rabbi Finkel discusses the laws of Shabbat on Sunday mornings immediately following services
